Walk up Snowdon for Faith
Tiny little baby Faith Rebecca Langston was born on 25th March at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. She was born 16 weeks before her due date and weighed 1lb 10oz. Faith is the Daughter of Vikki and John Paul Langston from Craven Arms. John Paul is the deputy manager at Tuffins in Knighton and his work colleges have organised a sponsored fancy dress walk up Snowdon to raise money for the Neonatal Unit in Shrewsbury where Faith is being cared for and to help parents Vikki and John Paul with their travelling costs to see Faith in hospital. The organisers Dan Tyler, Kyle Verney and Phil Taylor have so far got around thirty people taking part in the walk including John Paul, over ten members of staff from Tuffins in Knighton and seven from the Craven Arms store where John Paul worked previously. Some of the people are total strangers who after seeing posters of the little girl have decided they want to help. There is a ‘Faith for Faith’ page on Facebook that so far has over 1,370 members. On the site there are regular prayers to ask for Faith’s continued progress. Faith is now weighing in at 2lb 7oz and is able to go for short periods breathing unaided. Her mum Vikki spends every day at the hospital and Dad John Paul and Amber (6) Faith’s big sister make visits as often as they can. Faith will be staying in the Neonatal Unit until at least her due date in July. The walk up Snowdon will be on May 29th staring at 11.00am. Walkers will be leaving Knighton Lorry Park at 6.50am, (transport is not provided), there will be a minimum donation of £5. The path they will be taking is the Rangers Path starting from the Ranger Youth Hostel, suitable footwear must be worn. For more information, for anyone who wants to take part in the walk or support the walkers telephone Dan on 07814 770571. Donations can also be given to one of the organisers in Tuffins, Knighton.
